Editor’s Note: On Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016, Dispensational Publishing House, Inc. announced that it had received its first book contract back from Dr. Andy Woods, who will author this first volume. This is a major milestone for DPH, which expects to release the book in late spring. Woods will offer an exposition of the prophetic revelation given in Ezekiel 38 and 39—exploring the intricacies of the events described there and the implications that they hold for our world today, as he discusses below. DPH is currently working on plans for additional books, booklets, charts and infographics, as well as preparing to publish materials through its Revived Classics line. Check our website for continuing developments.
Therefore prophesy, son of man, and say to Gog, “Thus says the Lord God, ‘On that day when My people Israel are living securely, will you not know it? You will come from your place out of the remote parts of the north, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great assembly and a mighty army; and you will come up against My people Israel like a cloud to cover the land. It shall come about in the last days that I will bring you against My land, so that the nations may know Me when I am sanctified through you before their eyes, O Gog.’” (Ezekiel 38:14-16)
It is an honor to be the first published author for the new publishing venture, Dispensational Publishing House. DPH is needed to fulfill a unique literary need in the body of Christ today regarding the demand for sound dispensational literature resources. Sadly, much of the dispensational material offered today at times borders on the hyper-sensational. Other available resources that offer an academic tone tend to emanate from the heavily amillennial and Reformed circles. DPH tries to strike the right balance by being both academic and prophetically relevant.
The upcoming work seeks to strike this proper balance between academic quality and prophetic urgency. Its focus is to examine the widely debated chapters 38 and 39 found in the book of Ezekiel. These chapters describe a last days invasion of the nation of Israel.
The work will strike an academic tone by carefully documenting, from scholarly sources, the precise identity of the nations comprising these last days invaders. It will also lay out the differing views concerning the prophetic timing of these chapters, and then takes a Biblically-informed position on the future timing of these events that most evangelicals are unaware of. The book also seeks to remain prophetically relevant by taking a look at today’s volatile Middle East in order to show the reader how history has finally caught up to the time period that Ezekiel—as recorded in these chapters—foresaw saw back in the sixth century before Christ. The work also aims for personal relevance by concluding with some very practical points of application.
This material is of the sort that you could share with an unbeliever, since the gospel is clearly presented at the conclusion. This clear gospel presentation effectively teaches people how to enter into a saving relationship with the God of history by faith alone in Christ alone.
It is my hope and prayer that God will use this effort in a strategic way—not only to fulfill a unique need in the Christian publishing world, but also to alert people to the shortness of the hour and the soon return of Jesus Christ.
